COMCAT Groups 4 Catering Appliances, as the titles suggest provides for what you’ll need to know in order to safely install, service and repair Fish and Chip Ranges. Broadly, the course covers the following knowledge areas.
- Checking the intended installation sites.
- The gas connection and supply pipes
- Securing the Fish and Chip Range correctly
- Ventilation requirements
- Tightness testing
- Gas rating & operating pressures
- Commissioning and testing the appliances
- Unsafe situations
- Other ‘site specific’ checks and tests
This assessment takes approximately half a day to complete, with theory and practical assessments fitted within timescales.
This module is not completed in-centre at the GATC but rather on-site at local manufacturers’ locations. Acceptance onto this course is entirely at the discretion of the location managers and thus you will need to call in (in person or by phone) with your details in order to apply for this course.
